Psychedelic drugs: how the brains of informed users are different

I have read an article called "Psychedelic drugs:how the brains of informed users are different" written by Clint Witchalls. The author of this text describes a new generation of drug users who possess highly detailed pharmacological and technical knowledge about the drugs which they take. He calls them "Psychonauts" what means "navigator of the soul". They are deliberate experimenters of hallucinogens or other psychedelic drugs only to achieve a spiritual, altered state of consciousness, enlightenment of the mind. Therefore, they are careful with the amount of drugs they take. The author's statements show that according to the research carried out Psychonauts differ from "club drugs" users, addicted people. Compared to them, Psychonauts, after the drugs, have no problem concentrating or solving problems, they make decisions quickly and they are driven by the need to experience extraordinary new things. Moreover, they are positive about their lifestyle and they are not addicted. Also, thanks to the conducted experiment, hallucinogenic drugs such as psilocybin and ketamine are being investigated as one of the way  for treatment - resistant depression and other mental health conditions which are difficult to treat. I am not a doctor or specialist, but in my opinion, it is not method for everyone, because it is still easy to get addicted to them.
