Fashion 2010s (Part 1)

In the 2010s we finally started caring about the impact of mass production of clothes in our future or the future of our planet and sustainability. People understood what fast fashion really looks like and that has become an exploitation of factory workers in poor countries. When in the 2013s in April, the Rana Plaza (clothing factory)  in Dhaka collapsed, killing and injuring thousands of people. The whole world was suddenly looking at the fashion industry. The huge scale of the disaster led to protests and changed people’s mindset about buying clothes in high-street shops. After this event, in Bangladesh, the global Fashion Revolution organization was established to celebrate the positive impact of fashion in the world and all those who contribute to it every day. In addition,  ,,big brands” such as Prada, Gucci, Chanel started to focus on eco and „slow”, informed fashion.

  1. Do you really believe that the world has changed its mindset concerning fashion? You can't see much change during the sales season when you see heaps of very cheap clothes going to waste.
