Fashion 2000s

Fashion in the 2000s was born out of globalization. In these years, there was a rise of „fast fashion”- the first high - street shops were created then. You could buy there affordable clothes based of runway design, from appropriately cheaper fabrics and details. However, over time, people began to see that, due to the focus on fast fashion production and consumption, the production of clothes on such a large scale created problems to the exploitation of low - paid workers (very often children from poor countries) and posed an increasing threat to environment.

In the 2000s styles such as: vintage, boho and clothes inspired by rock or punk reigned, also hip hop music and indie rock music had a huge impact on mode back then .In those years  people wore : hipsters (i.e. low waisted pants), short tops, neckerchiefs, leather clothes and high heels sandals. Fashion icons in the 20s were celebrities like: Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Jenifer Lopez, Shakira and Beyonce.  In addition, in the final years of the 90s and at the beginning of the 21st century  , when people both feared and joyfully expected the coming rise of technology. "Y2K" style was arose, i. e. futuristic approach to fashion with technology. "Clothing and streetwear from this era features a ton of bling, designer logos, and slimmed-down cuts in shirts and dresses that reflected the idea of “streamlined” technology".
