The 1980s were a decade of bold style, colors and silhouettes. Georgio Armani - the Italian designer, revolutionized women’s and men’s wardrobe and turned the fashion upside down. Men started to wear matching suits, and the women - pants with a corner, jeans, oversize sweaters and jackets with wide shoulders . Fashion had no rules. It was to reflect the character of the person . In those years it was popular to lead a healthy lifestyle and the gymes were opened. The cult of body and dance appeared in mode trends. The 1980s was also a decade of jeans, the most famous designers denim were Calvin Klein, Jordache and Guess. There were lots of brands and styles of jeans to choose from, but the main jeans style of the decade for women was high-waisted and ,,paper bag jeans”. Where the waist of the pants were gathered and looked like crumpled top of the paper bag. At that time , the series ,, Dynasty” played important role in fashion. It is in series that the stylizations in style „power dressing” were shown. „Power dressing” is a style that „enables women to gain power in a professional and political environment traditionally dominated by men”. In the 80s (on the stage ) appeared Madonna who launched the fashion for plastic, chains, kitsch. She started the fashion for the the „layerd style” that is, a putting on one garment on another.

Oh, dear, those wide-shouldered jackets of the 1980s! Has there ever been anything uglier in fashion? And also, everything seemed too big in the 1980s - trousers, coats, even T-shirts. - as if everyone was wearing clothes two sizes too big for them.
