Fashion in the 50s

 In the 40s, during the war, the most important features of fashion were comfort and functionality. However, at the end of war  the fashion has reinvented  and Paris became the style has become the capital of style again. The 1950s were tribute of womenhood! Women  wore creations  full of style and elegance  but also completely new non-standard styles, it was a great fashion revolution!! In the 50s, the cinema had huge impact on fashion, it was the icons of silver screen (the Hollywood stars) that set the trends.  The ideal of the female figure was the hourgalass and women emphasize their body through clothes.  Women wore things that were popular at the time were a suit with a jacket and skirt, a shirt  dress with a belt , flared and pencil skirts, a twin set- a blouse and sweater in the same color and cigarillos. Moreover, chlothes were often decorated with sequins, flowers or polka dots, what symbolized lightness and grace! Also in the 50s the pin up girl style was popular and women started wearing leather jackests and jeans!!
