Fashion 1960s
The 1960s were the heyday of London, which became a fashion powerhouse and set the most important trends in terms of trends. The Beatles, the music of generations and the way of life were called ,,Swinging London” and as they looked at the world through „pink glasses”. 60s fashion was related to pop art, many designers were inspired by the paintings of famous artist. It was a time of symbiosis between fashion and art. The strongest trend was Optical Art-dresses with stripes, circles and diamond, geometry reigned supreme in the world of fashion and the strong colors added a touch of fun to the styling.
Fashion 1960s it is the time of the young Yevs Saunt Lauren who replaced the Christian Dior and founded his own fashion house. Creator transformed the women’s wardrobe and introduced a tuxedo and power dressing clothes f.x. : short jackets, pencil skirt, trousers. Elements of everyday styling included shirts fastened with buttons, turtlenecks and chunky knit sweaters. Fashion Icons of those days were Brigitte Bardot, Jackie Kennedy and Mary Quant.
