1930s Fashion
Despite the fact that in the 1930s there was still a great crisis, these were years full of classs, glamour and style.
As the 1920s turned into the 1930s, women’s fashion softly evolved from the boyish look into the feminine silhouette of the early thirties. But 1930s these are also times of the Great Depression that echoed widely around the world. This is one of the reasons why women mostly wore modest clothes and more designers used artificial fabrics to make clothes. It was then that women wore nylon tights for the first time, which quickly became a symbol of feminity for decades. In 30s women wore also: midi length bias-cut dreeses, puff sleeves, belted waists and large yokes or collars. The fashion of the 1930s is described by words such as minimalism, simplicity and functionality.
